Colleen is the newest addition to the Second Story Women's Centre. She recently returned home to the South Shore after almost two decades away. Colleen’s previous career in broadcasting has taken her all across the country but she is glad to be back in Lunenburg County.
Colleen's is usually the voice you hear when you call the Centre, and the face that greets you at the Welcome Window. Colleen has Mental Health First Aid training and feels grateful that those who call the Centre for supportive listening have entrusted her with the details of their experiences and feelings.
Colleen uses she/her pronouns and enjoys reading (mostly non-fiction), listening to podcasts, going on road trips, and smashing the patriarchy.
Fun Fact: Colleen has been a feminist since the age of 8, when Kim Campbell became the first female Prime Minister of Canada, and Little Colleen thought it wasn’t fair that it had taken so long for ‘a girl to get a turn being in charge.'
