Second Story Women's Centre is pleased to be hosting a variety show to celebrate Persons Day. It will be a night of performance, celebration and community.
📍 Where: Lunenburg Opera House, 290 Lincoln St, Lunenburg
📅 When: Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 7:00 pm
We are now accepting performer applications for the event.

2025 HOWLER AWARD
Since 2011, Second Story Women’s Centre has presented an annual award, on Persons Day, October 18, to a deserving woman or group. The name of the award, The Howler Award, refers to a quote by pioneering Canadian feminist Nellie McClung, “Never apologize, never explain, just get the thing done and let them howl.” Those eligible to be nominated for the Howler Award will have made significant contributions to improve the lives and circumstances of women and gender-diverse individuals in Lunenburg and Queens Counties. The award also promotes the work SSWC does; underscores SSWC’s mission to support women and gender-diverse people; provides safer spaces and advocate for social change; and advances Second Story’s vision of gender equity and safe, healthy relationships on the South Shore. Nominees can include the following individuals or groups: ● Women, girls, or gender-diverse people ● Residents of Lunenburg or Queens County ● Agencies or groups who advocate for social change for women and girls ● Board and staff members who are no longer active with SSWC |
