ABOUT THE LEANNE LEARNING FUND
What is it?
The Leanne Learning Fund has been established by a private donor, a long-time supporter of the Second Story Women’s Centre. If you are a girl, woman, or gender-oppressed person living in Lunenburg or Queen’s County, the Leanne Learning Fund can assist you to participate in learning opportunities that support your personal growth, whether educationally, physically, or emotionally. Do you want to attend a skills or educational upgrading course, or take part in a fitness or art program, or maybe a leadership course? Any such program, not just formal education, could potentially qualify for an award of up to $500 under this Fund, based upon the cost of the program.
How do I apply?
The application form is available to be downloaded or filled in at the link on this page, and can also be emailed out to you upon request - just call the SSWC office. Paper copies of the application can also be picked up at the Centre. Applications are accepted any time of the year and will be reviewed within a few weeks of submission.
Additional information
The awarded funds will be paid directly to the program or institution for which you are applying. Please note in some cases a bursary can be considered taxable income and may have tax implications for you.
