We are seeking a dependable, committed Part Time Finance Coordinator to join our dedicated team. As the Part Time Finance Coordinator, you will work in collaboration with the staff team to carry out financial functions of the Centre. You support the daily functioning and successful relationship building of the organization according to the Strategic Direction, Operational Plan and Policies. Work Conditions: The Part Time Finance Coordinator works 16 hours per week This is an in-person position, working from our centre at 18 Dufferin Street, Lunenburg, NS Position starts - ASAP Salary is $19,000-22,000; participation in Employee Assistance Program and Employee Telehealth Program; 3 weeks (pro-rated for part-time) vacation per year
Primary Responsibilities General Ledger Maintenance Accounts Payable & Receivable Donor Database Management Project Accounting Financial Reporting Banking Reception Payroll and Benefits Administration Government Remittances Service Statistics Reports Meeting Agenda and Minutes.
Knowledge, skills and abilities Strong organization and initiative skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with others Ability to think critically and independently Proficient in the use of computer technologies including MS Office Suite and Sage 50 Knowledge of full cycle accounting and experience with project-based bookkeeping Ability to work collaboratively Knowledge of payroll and appropriate legislation and remittance requirements Ability to effectively represent the organization to a variety of stakeholders, funders, and the community Enthusiasm for feminist, client-centred work and making an impact on the lives of others
Experience: 1 year or more experience. Post Secondary Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping considered an asset. Experience in the non-profit or public sectors considered an asset.
